Another Sherlock Holmes picture, as I'm currently quite obsessed. This time it's a quick one, without any details like in the last one. I'm seriously fed up with bookshelves.
This is Holmes as I always imagined him, before ever watching the Granada series (which I love). I think he it is much closer to Sidney Paget's illustrations than to Jeremy Brett, but still not quite the same.
EDIT: I completely revamped the whole picture - the old one was so bad, I couldn't look at it any more. I like this much better, although I still hate that sad excuse of a background. Unfortunately, the .psd-file died with my old computer, so I had only one layer, and doing a background would've been a real pain that way.
This pic is interesting, as it shares features of both Brett and Paget's illustrations. The hair is very much like Brett's when he portrays Holmes as restless, yet the face is square, like Paget's drawings. All in all, a fantastic piece
thank you very much!
ah well, it seems Brett and Paget have influenced me after all, but what can I do... although I think that both Brett and especially Paget's illustrations show a much too healthy-looking Holmes, and I tried to avoid that.
Pale, languid eyes, long, thin face, tight lips... I like it! You did a great job. I would have made his nose a bit more hawk-like, but it's still cool. X3
thank you very much! ah, the nose was much more hawk-like before my boyfriend said it looked awkward, and i erased it and never again was able to re-draw it as good as before
Have a great time everyone and please fav this article so as many people can see the featured works. I would recommend seeing each one and faving them too.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!

Anyhow... sweet pic! Love the hair and the paleness of his skin. Great job on that one.
